Woven and welded metal mesh is often further processed before it can be fitted into a machine, filter or other technical product. For example, the mesh may need to be shaped to a specific form, fit precisely with other components, or be prepared for a subsequent processing step.
Royal Dinxperlo can process woven and welded mesh into customised components using laser cutting. This technique makes it possible to cut out both simple and complex shapes with precision and reproducibility. From a single prototype to a repeat production run: every shape is tailored to the customer’s technical drawing and requirements.
Metal mesh has an open structure and consists of individual wires and intersections. As a result, the material behaves differently during cutting than a solid metal sheet. The cutting line may pass through different parts of the woven or welded structure, requiring a precisely controlled process.
In addition, the external dimensions and contours of each component must remain consistent. This is particularly important when the mesh is fitted into a frame, connected to other components or forms part of a larger assembly. Any deviations can then affect the fit and further processing.

During the laser cutting process, Royal Dinxperlo uses a concentrated laser beam to cut the wire mesh along a predetermined contour. The cutting movement is controlled by digital software. This enables us to produce both simple and complex shapes with precision.
This flexibility makes laser cutting suitable for round, rectangular and irregularly shaped wire mesh parts. In addition, we can incorporate cut-outs and other product-specific contours directly into the shape. In this way, we prepare the wire mesh precisely for assembly or further processing.
