During production, storage and further processing, wire mesh may come into contact with oil, grease, dust and other contaminants. Particularly in the case of finely woven mesh, these residues can accumulate between the wires and within the mesh openings. Superficial cleaning is therefore not always sufficient.
Royal Dinxperlo can ultrasonically clean both woven and welded wire mesh. This method removes contaminants even from hard-to-reach areas and ensures a thoroughly clean and grease-free end result. The wire mesh can be cleaned either on a roll or in pre-cut sections.
Metal mesh has an open yet complex structure. The intersecting wires, small mesh openings and any welded joints create areas where production residues and contamination can remain.
This can cause problems during further processing. For example, a contaminated or greasy surface can affect the adhesion of a coating, adhesive or other bonding agent. Even when the mesh is used directly as a filter or sieve component, it is important that the mesh openings are free from unwanted residues.
The cleaning method must therefore be thorough enough to clean the mesh effectively, without placing unnecessary strain on the fine wire and mesh structure.

During ultrasonic cleaning, we place the mesh in a cleaning solution. High-frequency sound waves then generate very small movements and tiny bubbles in the solution. These also reach the spaces between the wires. This causes dirt, oil and grease to be dislodged from the surface.
The cleaning solution reaches not only the outer surface of the wire mesh, but also hard-to-reach areas around intersections and within fine mesh openings. This is why ultrasonic cleaning is suitable for both coarse and fine-mesh wire mesh structures.
After treatment, the wire mesh is thoroughly cleaned and free of grease. It therefore provides a suitable basis for further processing or direct delivery.
Royal Dinxperlo can clean metal wire mesh at various stages of the production process. For example, we can treat wire mesh on rolls before cutting, forming or coating it. In addition, we can clean machined components before assembling them or delivering them to the customer.
We clean, amongst other things:
The planned subsequent processes and requirements for the end product determine the best time to clean the wire mesh. We therefore carefully coordinate the timing of the cleaning process with the overall production process.
Ultrasonic cleaning can serve as both a preparatory and a finishing process. For example, prior to bonding or powder coating, a clean and grease-free surface ensures proper preparation for the next production stage.
After cutting, punching, forming or welding, ultrasonic cleaning can remove any remaining production residues. This enables Royal Dinxperlo to supply a fully processed and carefully cleaned mesh product. Furthermore, the customer does not need to clean the component themselves before the next stage of processing or assembly takes place.
When determining the correct cleaning approach, we take the following into account:
First, we assess the properties and condition of the mesh. We then tailor the cleaning process to the product’s shape, the contamination present and the next production stage. This ensures the treatment is precisely suited to the application.
Royal Dinxperlo combines the production and processing of metal mesh with its own in-house ultrasonic cleaning facilities. This enables us to treat the mesh at various stages of the production process.
Furthermore, we carry out production, further processing and cleaning all under one roof. This enables us to carefully coordinate the various processes. As a result, you receive a thoroughly cleaned mesh product that meets the requirements of your production process.
Our advantages:
Do you require woven or welded mesh to be supplied thoroughly clean and grease-free? Royal Dinxperlo works with you to determine the most suitable stage and the correct cleaning approach within your production process.
First, we assess the product shape, contamination and any subsequent processing steps. We then carefully clean the mesh using ultrasonic sound waves. This ensures you receive cleaned mesh on a roll or a fully processed component that is ready for further processing or use.
