Woven and welded wire mesh often needs to be shaped into a specific form before it can be processed as a component. Examples include round filter components, rectangular inserts or wire mesh components with cut-outs. Consistent dimensions and an efficient production process are particularly important when producing larger quantities.
Royal Dinxperlo can process metal mesh into customised components using die-cutting and punching. Specially developed tools are used to cut the desired contours from the mesh quickly and consistently. This ensures that every component is identical and fits the application precisely.
Metal mesh has an open structure consisting of individual wires and intersections. During die-cutting, the material must be properly supported and held in place. If the mesh shifts during processing, this can lead to deviations in shape or dimensions.
In addition, the punching process must be tailored to the wire diameter, mesh size, weave structure and the material. Only with suitable tools and a controlled process can the desired contours be produced accurately and without unnecessary damage.

During the die-cutting process, we cut the mesh in a single operation using a die and matching tools. In doing so, we can create both the outer contour and any openings or cut-outs. This immediately produces a mesh component with the desired shape and dimensions.
Royal Dinxperlo develops the necessary die-cutting tools in-house. We also carry out maintenance in-house. This allows us to maintain control over the accuracy, quality and continuity of the production process. Furthermore, we carefully tailor the tools to the desired shape and properties of the mesh.
Stamping and punching are particularly advantageous when a customer requires the same mesh component in large quantities. Once we have developed the tooling, we can produce the components quickly and consistently.
The fixed shape of the tooling ensures that every component has the same contour and dimensions. This results in a stable production process. Furthermore, this repeatability makes the process suitable for recurring production runs where consistent quality is essential.
For prototypes or frequently changing shapes, laser cutting generally offers greater flexibility. Once the product specifications are finalised and production volumes increase, die-cutting often provides an efficient solution for series production.
Manufacturers use die-cut and punched mesh components for a wide range of industrial and technical applications. They are suitable, for example, for:

The function of the mesh component and its design ultimately determine which version is required. That is why we tailor the choice of material, shape and dimensions to the application in which the customer will use the component.
After punching, we can further process the mesh if necessary. For example, we can form, press or weld a flat punched component. In addition, we can assemble the mesh with other components.
Royal Dinxperlo manufactures both the mesh and the necessary tools. Furthermore, we carry out various subsequent processing steps in-house. This enables us to carefully coordinate the various production stages. As a result, you receive a complete, bespoke component rather than just a cut-out piece of mesh.
When developing a die-cut mesh component, we take the following factors into account, amongst others:

In this way, we tailor the entire production process to the desired shape, dimensions and batch size.

Furthermore, we can further process the punched mesh parts into complete bespoke components. This means you do not need to outsource different production stages to multiple suppliers. In addition, the use of dedicated tools ensures precise and reproducible quality for larger and recurring production runs.
