Wire annealing as part of the production process

Royal Dinxperlo can anneal the wire before we weave it into wire mesh. By heat-treating the wire in advance, we make it more supple and malleable. This allows the weaving process to proceed in a more controlled manner and enables us to process the wires precisely to achieve the desired weave structure.

The correct treatment depends, amongst other things, on the material, the wire diameter and the desired properties of the end product. We therefore tailor the annealing process to the subsequent processing. This enables us to influence the workability of the wire and the properties of the final mesh at an early stage in the production process.

Stress-relief annealing of woven mesh

Royal Dinxperlo can also anneal the mesh after weaving. During the weaving process, we interlace the warp and weft threads over and under one another. This causes stresses to build up in both the individual threads and the entire weave structure.

By stress-relieving the entire fabric, we make the mesh more supple and more malleable. This makes the material better suited to subsequent processes involving bending, pressing or forming.
